Music These Days is a band from Tucson.
Led by songwriter, vocalist, and rhythm guitar player, Benjamin T. Wilkinson—with Chris Byrne on bass guitar, Jameson Clay Koweek on lead guitars, Michael Newman on drums & percussion, and Andrew Berg on keys.
Their debut EP “Two Year" released in March 2023 was featured as KXCI’s “Pick of the Week” and Americana (AMA) stations across the country have continually included their songs in playlist rotation. You weren’t supposed to hear this album. Usually reserved as references for the band, this is a collection of rough demos captured on an iPhone; recorded within a day or two of discovering the song. Sometimes broken sounding, sprinkled with the insecurity of not totally knowing what the song is yet.
There is a purity with the first demo that can’t be recorded again. Solo demos are a critical step in our creative process. Influential, but not prescriptive. Fresh, but not ripe. Vulnerable and outgoing all at once… available on all streaming platforms. All songs written, performed, mixed, and mastered at The Desert Studio in Tucson, Arizona. Recorded on iPhone 12.
